Insertable sensors for large-diameter and transmission mains. Delivered across Delta by Acoustic Water Leak, a Leak.ca division.
604-239-9934Same-day response in DeltaLarge-diameter and long-run transmission mains often defeat surface acoustic methods — the signal simply doesn't reach the surface clearly enough. Insertable hydrophone arrays attach inside the line through existing fittings and tow through the main, capturing the leak signature directly inside the water column. We perform these inspections for water utilities and industrial facilities with mains too long, deep or large for conventional correlation. Deliverables include the leak locations on a referenced site plan plus the raw acoustic data for engineering review.
Distribution mains in dyke-protected service zones, common-line leaks in older Ladner stratas.
Delta's built environment — single-family in Ladner and North Delta, low-rise development in Tsawwassen, agricultural and industrial in Tilbury and Ladner farmland — shapes how hydrophone inspections is delivered locally. Most of Delta sits at or below sea level on the Fraser delta, protected by dykes and pump stations. Water-table issues, slab leaks and stormwater inflow into sanitary systems are recurring themes, and utility work has to respect strict drainage and ALR constraints.
